UNIT 4 - Initial ideas

In our initial idea we wanted to do a comedic advert where we show to the audience that we are advertising a perfume which is very classy and luxurious, after showing various scenes of the main character who would be me, modelling, we would show all the glitz and glamour of the advert by showing flashing cameras dramatic background and nice city lit location. This would obviously not be the whole advert as the humorous part kicks in when we then show that the character was in fact day dreaming and instead buying air freshener for his house. This would engage the audiences of ages 20 upwards as they are most likely to be intrigued by such a product. Because of this we would choose to target this to the socio economic classes oF B-D. Furthermore, the main audience would be male as the model acting would be a man and the "perfume/cologne" that is supposedly the "product" is a mans cologne. For this reason we chose the target audience above.

We then had another idea for the advert which was still humorous and comedic so nothing drastic would be changed. The advert would show a suspicious man walking along the street and then show two police officers walking behind, the man will look behind him and then walk a bit faster, this will lead the two police officers to start to follow him. The man realises and then puts his hoodie up and starts to run, the two officers chase him into an alley way where they finally corner him and instead of saying "Freeze!" they both shout "Febreze!". This is obviously where the humour comes in as the audience and viewers watching will then realise it is not a serious commercial. The suspicious man will then wake up i bed as if it was all a bad dream and will show his mum saying "c'mon your room smells terrible" whilst spraying the febreze, the man gets up form bed and the camera zooms in on the product.  This is a great way of engaging viewers and getting them to see the funny side of our idea. They will also be more likely to remember the advert and product if they find it engaging at such a high standard. This idea would cost us way more than the initial idea as there are more props that are needed.
